Harley Davidson Dyna Glide Fat Bob brake light problem.
Having replaced the return spring in the front brake master cylinder, which is another story, I was still having problems with the brake light staying on. I had tried adjusting the positioning of the switch and where is made contact with the lever but it would only turn the brake light off when the lever was pushed forward. I had taken a look on Harley forums and found that guys had been using all sorts of things to take up the slack between the lever and the switch. This entails removing the cover that holds the switches and retains the throttle grip and does not give a lot of room to work with. I tried the thin card, a piece of plastic and a sticky backed silicon button but each of them has been fine while in the garage but on riding up the road, usually to a BOF's ride, whatever I have used has fell out. The latest mod is using a 1/4 inch piece of Gortex gasket which is also sticky backed and after degreasing the lever side placed it on there and after a garage and road test it seems fine and the good thing with Gortex is its self lubricating. But if you see me out and its not working please let me know.
